Dry fertilizer

Prices are per acre on fields over 40 acres, spread rate under 300 pounds. Product is billed separately at our landed cost plus handling, and it is on the ticket as its own line so you can see it.

Whether the ground is fit is our call, and we will lose the day to say so.

  • Too wetA floater in soft ground makes ruts you will feel for three seasons. We would rather come Thursday.
  • Too much windOver 10 miles an hour we stop spraying. Drift onto a neighbor's beans is not a risk we take on your behalf.
  • Soil too warm for anhydrousPut it on at 60 degrees and you are paying to feed the bacteria. We watch the four-inch temperature and call you when it breaks.
  • Standing crop or livestock in the fieldObvious, and it still happens twice a year. Tell us if a gate got moved.
  • Nothing we can do about the quarryLime lead time is theirs, not ours. When they slip we call you the day we hear it rather than the day you notice.

We pull two-and-a-half acre grids, run them through an independent lab, and hand back a pH and fertility map you own outright. It is $7.50 an acre and it is the only thing on this page that reliably pays for itself in one season, usually by telling you where not to spend.
